From Executive Director Amy Smith-Biden:
I am writing to ask you to support a critical fund-raising campaign called #HelpingOthers2020. The goal is to raise $50,000 to help support needy families leading up to the Holiday Season.
Holidays can be stressful, especially for families and individuals, many of whom struggle just to meet everyday needs. Ruth’s House has always been there. More than 2,000 people count on us annually.
- The Senior Coat Program ensures that seniors have warm winter coats.
- The Family and Individual Clothing Program provide vouchers to “shop” for clothing.
- The Children’s Reading Program rewards children who read five books with free books and a gift certificate.
- The Thrift Shop is stocked with games, books, toys and craft supplies priced from 50 cents to 5 dollars for gift-giving.
As 2020 comes to a close, Ruth’s House is facing a significant loss in revenue. Due to state restrictions on social gathering, Ruth’s House had to cancel several planned fund-raising events. Without additional financial support, we fear Ruth’s House will reach far fewer individuals and families at a time when their needs are greatest.
In the past, you have provided generous support to Ruth’s House. We humbly ask you again, to help with a donation to the #HelpingOthers2020 campaign. For your convenience you can use the secure donate button below or simply mail your donation. Thank you so very much!
